Start with the buying path
Map how a customer moves from a product page to an order confirmation. Note where the store asks for information, which choices the customer must make, and what happens when an item is unavailable.
Review the flow on a phone as well as a desktop. Product images, variant selection, delivery details, taxes, and payment instructions should be clear before the customer places an order.
A checkout review should use the store's real catalog, payment setup, and delivery rules.
Choose integrations deliberately
Payment, shipping, analytics, and marketing tools can affect both the customer experience and the work required to maintain a store. List the tools the business already uses before choosing a custom or hosted platform.
Test the full order path, including declined payments, address corrections, cancellations, and confirmation messages. Agree on how these cases will be handled before launch.
